Gain Experience & Earn Money at UCLA H&HS
Many UCLA students become part of the Housing & Hospitality Services (H&HS) team. They help provide assistance to guests, team members, and managers through a wide variety of jobs including:
- Food Service
- Front Desk Services
- Clerical and Administrative Assistance
- Data Entry and Billing
- Access Control and Safety
- Computer/IT Assistance
Students work in a variety of H&HS units including Dining, On-Campus Housing, UCLA Catering, University Apartments, the Student Technology Center, and the Hospitality Sales and Marketing groups. Please note that only undergraduate and graduate UCLA students (both work study and non-work study) are eligible for all H&HS student positions. UCLA Extension Students are not eligible, but may email email@example.com for other opportunities.
H&HS Student team members may also apply for the Student Hospitality Leadership Development Program (SHLDP), which helps expand their knowledge of the many departments within the H&HS Division, with a strong focus on hospitality. The goal of the program is to increase student team member engagement with H&HS, as well as to make participants aware of potential hospitality careers at UCLA and beyond.

About Work Study
The Work Study Program is a federally supported program intended to stimulate and promote part-time student employment, particularly students from low-income families, who are in need of earnings from such employment to pursue courses of study at institutions of higher education. The federal government allocates funds annually to the UCLA Financial Aid Office for this purpose.
Work Study on-campus employers may include academic departments, administrative offices, laboratories and other student support offices such as UCLA Housing & Hospitality Services.
The UCLA Work Study On-Campus Guide provides extensive information on participation of UCLA students in the program
Eligibility for Work Study
The UCLA Financial Aid Office is responsible for determining students' financial need and eligibility for Work Study funds. To be considered for Work Study funding, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by March 2nd of every year for the upcoming academic year.
Students MUST review and be familiar with the Student Guide to the Federal Work Study Program that provides the conditions governing participation in the program. The UCLA Work Study Job bulletin posted on myUCLA, has a current listing of approved Work Study jobs. This website is updated daily and provides you with contact information for each job posting to either email or call the employer. Although you are not guaranteed a job we encourage you to look early and often in order to be more likely to obtain one.
