UCLA employees are eligible to receive parking permits from UCLA Parking at a monthly cost. Generally, all UCLA employees who are eligible for parking receive Yellow (Non-Reserved) Permits, which are valid for specifically assigned parking areas. Employees may also apply for other permits, including those for carpools (reduced fees), clean fuel vehicles, and disabilities.
UCLA is Designated a "Best Workplace for Commuters"
UCLA meets the National Standard of Excellence in commuter benefits – a standard created by the National Center for Transit Research (NCTR) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) – and has been designated a "Best Workplace for Commuters." Consider using a smarter way to get to campus and help achieve our goal set in the UCLA Climate Action Plan to reduce UCLA employee single occupancy vehicle commuters.
Did you know that people who switch from driving to public transit lose approximately seven pounds in the first year? UCLA is served by a total of six public transit providers that offer local, express, and rapid express service. If you are a student, staff, or faculty member, UCLA Transportation will subsidize 50% of your transit pass fare.
UCLA is a bicycle-friendly campus. Nearly all public buses coming to UCLA/Westwood have bicycle racks so you can bike to your neighborhood bus stop, ride the bus here, and then bike where you need to be on campus.
Sit back, relax, and sleep or study while you commute to campus in one of more than 160 UCLA commuter vans serving approximately 85 Southern California communities.
Save money by carpooling to or from campus. With Zimride you can find one-time rides or create or join a carpool to campus with fellow Bruins within the UCLA community. You can save even more with a discounted UCLA Carpool Parking Permit.
When you walk to campus, Westwood, or to a meeting, you'll become physically healthier and your footprints will be carbon neutral.
The Bruin Commuter Club
Commuting to UCLA by public transit, bicycle, carpool, vanpool or by foot may also make you eligible to join UCLA Transportation's Bruin Commuter Club (BCC). BCC is an alternative transportation program that offers exclusive benefits to those who use a sustainable transportation mode to get to campus, such as gift cards and discounted parking when you need it.
