Food & BeverageH&HS operates five residential restaurants, three take-away eateries, a commissary and bakery, a full-service catering operation, a conference center in Lake Arrowhead with dining services, all UCLA vending kiosks , and the new UCLA Meyer and Renee Luskin Conference Center.
We employ all levels of food service specialists from food service workers to cooks, bakers, chefs, and operational managers, as well as team members who set up and serve catered events and staff who stock and maintain campus vending machines.
Housekeeping & MaintenanceH&HS provides housekeeping and maintenance services for 47 on-campus housing complexes, 24 apartment complexes, a 61-room campus hotel, a conference center in Lake Arrowhead with lodging for 200 guests, and the new 254 room UCLA Luskin Conference Center.
To ensure the comfort and safety of students and guests at all H&HS facilities, we hire housekeepers and custodians; maintenance workers and landscaping staff; electricians, plumbers, painters, HVAC and other specialists; access control coordinators; and operations managers.
Hospitality Services & SalesWe employ sales managers in each of our hospitality units. The hospitality division brings in revenues to UCLA through summer residential conferences (more than 300 groups each summer), a full-service catering operation (12,000 events and deliveries annually), a conference center in Lake Arrowhead (300 groups each year), a 61-room campus hotel (with an almost 90% occupancy rate), and the new 254 room Luskin Conference Center.
We provide "front desk" services to over 11,000 undergraduate student-residents during the academic year, and to guests from summer conferences and other groups that stay in our on-campus residential facilities. This team assists guests with check-in and check-out, housekeeping and maintenance requests, distribution of mail, coordination of key access, and answering questions regarding housing facilities and services. We also employ front desk staff at the UCLA Guest House, the UCLA Lake Arrowhead Conference Center, and the UCLA Luskin Conference Center.
Our Meeting Room Services crew works with groups in our on-campus meeting facilities. They take care of meeting room set-ups, A/V requests, and other onsite meeting room needs.
Administration & Professional ServicesH&HS units hire many team members who provide clerical support, administrative expertise, and managerial leadership. There are also several units that provide special services and functions to the organization and its customers.
- Housing Services manages student housing contracts (more than 20,000 accounts annually), and employs staff in the areas of collections, database management, room assignments, and accounting.
- Human Resources & Payroll Services handles payroll transactions for all H&HS employees and includes team members who provide benefits counseling, employee training and development, employee and labor relations, and help to departments regarding compensation, job classification, and hiring issues. Other services include onboarding and providing "New Employee Orientation."
- Housing Administration provides support to the Assistant Vice Chancellor who leads H&HS with project support; organizational planning, performance, and development; financial management; and sustainability monitoring and initiatives.
The H&HS Project Management Team serves as a full-service architectural design operation. This group includes architects, construction managers and interior design and architectural design specialists who manage departmental renovations and building construction projects.
